Our T47 London Bridge venue is home to all sorts of fun, mainly sporting to date, but this week saw the venue being used for a photoshoot for up and coming band The Rocket Dolls. They seemed to be having a good time with their photographer Tina K and looked great…

Every year we do a round up of the best team names in our leagues.
2008 was a fantastic vintage, ranging from Crystalmeth Palace to Victorious Secrets (left), via Turtle Football. Read the full round up here.
So far in 2009 there seems to be no sign of that the financial crisis has affected our teams’ reserves of inventiveness, smutty humour and surrealism. New entries by the likes of Dyslexia Untied and Dog in a Bath (eh?) are looking good already.
If you’ve got a nomination for a team name for the 2009 end of year list, email Kevin, who just can’t get enough of this silliness. Or leave your comment below.

I know. You’re saying to yourself “What?!? It’s only 8th December! I can’t be thinking about running off the turkey and Christmas pud when I haven’t even put my tree up yet!”, and I must admit to having some sympathy. However…
…as sure as eggs is eggs you’re going to want to be doing SOME exercise come January and a little planning now will allow you to be joining a football or netball league and the opportunity to keep fit and have some major fun into the bargain.
We have a list of leagues across central London that are now accepting applications from teams to join – have a look, we’re sure that there will be one to suit you.

So, the draw has been done and England have been handed the (apparently) kind group draw of USA, Algeria and Slovenia. Expect excitement and expectation to build to totally ridiculous levels over the coming months, neglecting the fact that England may well meet Germany in the next round should they progress, and we know how they usually fare there…
We wanted to flag nice and early that TCHQ will ensure that we won’t be scheduling any league football matches directly against England matches. You can be sure that your football won’t be getting in the way of your football, if you get what I mean. Dates we have so far are Saturday 12th, Friday 18th and Wednesday 23rd June.
There is a nice FIFA wallchart available as a PDF here.

When we designed our T47 venue at London Bridge, we decided on a plastic tile surface to give us the maximum flexibility for all kinds of sporting activities. We little thought at the time that this decision would mean we were the proprietors of London’s biggest and best roller skating rink.
As the pictures show, London’s skating community have taken T47 to their hearts. And not just that – skaters have been coming from as far away as Ipswich to try out the surface and get down to the music provided by the likes of DJ Sam E, Calvin Francis, Gordon Mac and DJ Ruth Fisher.
T47 features a beginners’ rink where you can benefit from free advice from resident skate promoters Skating Heaven, plus three further areas once you find your balance. Skating is fantastic fun, great for fitness and the presence of some of London’s top skaters guarantees an experience you’ll never forget!
Sessions this weekend:
Friday 4th Dec 9 PM – 1 AM £10 / £7.50 NUS
Saturday 5th Dec 9 PM – 2 AM £10 / £7.50 NUS
Sunday 6th Dec 1 PM – 4 PM Family Skate £5 / £15 Family of 4
Just turn up!

Regular readers of our little blog will have spotted that we recently opened a brand new venue at London Bridge – T47 Sports Venue. There have been just one or two mentions of this over the last few months!
Anyway, we hope that anyone who has been to T47 has been as happy with their experience there as we have been proud of the place since it opened. So, we are hoping that you might be
prepared to translate those positive thoughts into action by voting for T47 in LondonLaunch’s annual awards aimed at finding London’s best events organisers and venues. You do have to register to vote, but it is a very short process and we’d be very happy if you did…
