The EVG is a state-of-the art facility designed by world renowned architect Zaha Hadid and provides a fantastic setting in which play your football. More importantly, the pitch itself is also a top-notch and purpose built for 7 a-side. Changing rooms and shower facilities are equally impressive. We are aiming to get our new league underway from November 2nd and are now accepting new applicants, if you would like the opportunity to play at one of London’s most unique venues drop us a form and we can get you on pitch in a matter of weeks.
The EVG is also a stone’s throw away from Brixton where you have the benefits of a vibrant and bustling nightlife with plenty of transport links to help see you home when you do decide to call time. The league will be our first 7 a-side outing in South London and we are able to offer it to you at great introductory rate of £66 per game (inc VAT) which works out cheaper than equivalent 6 a-sides. Learn futsal from the experts Top Corner has teamed up with Kickers Futsal, one of the country’s leading futsal clubs, to offer drop-in coaching sessions atCamden. The sessions are led by Rogerio de Oliveira, who spent two decades as a pro futsal player in Brazil and is Kickers’ manager. “Our mission is to develop futsal in the UK,” says Rogerio. “We want to introduce as many people as we can to this great sport and to build up the base of players in this country. Whether you come just for fun and fitness or to develop some serious skills, we can help.”
The sessions have been running for three weeks and have a dedicated group of regulars. Now it’s time to take the skills out into the competitive environment – we’re going to start one of the UK’s first futsal leagues at our new Euston venue. The league will be FA-affiliated and will offer a pathway for players into the higher echelons of the sport.

Rogerio explains futsal

Anyone who fancies an introduction to futsal can attend the final session on Monday 6th July at 7.00 PM. Men and women are welcome. This week will be especially exciting as the Kickers team will be there to demonstrate how it’s done, and you can have a chance to play against them!
At just £5 per player there’s no good reason not to have a go! To book a place, email Raj.
Futsal is short for futebol de salão, a 5-a-side game invented in Uruguay in 1930 and which quickly gained massive popularity in Brazil and then elsewhere in the world. The close skills of players like Ronaldinho and Robinho were developed and honed on the futsal courts. The game is played with a size 4 ball, smaller and heavier than normal, which bounces 30% less and so focuses play on close control, quick short-passing moves and dribbles.
The UK is about the only country in the world where 5-a-side is not played to futsal rules, which may be why we are among the world’s worst futsal nations!
The Football Association has recently made some steps to amend this by establishing a national futsal league, but much more needs to be done! Playing off the walls as we do in the UK is fun, but real ball skills are much easier to learn on the futsal court.

“We have been really inspired by Rogerio and his passion for futsal. Our hope is that the coaching sessions will give people the opportunity to get into futsal,” says Top Corner MD Kevin Burns.
“We hope that this will be just the beginning. We’re planning to start our first leagues in July – one for elite teams at Camden, and one for beginners at our brand-new Euston venue. We’re also hoping to work with Rogerio to get kids playing the sport through our community initiatives. Watch this space for details!”
