These 40 minute sessions, led by two of our coaches, are open to women’s teams and individual players of all abilities and will focus mainly on technical skills and offensive/defensive play.

The sessions will start at 7.40 pm on Monday evenings and will run on the following dates:

Or if you’re already in a league but can’t quite get enough netball at the moment, then you’d also be more than welcome to join us on Monday evenings!

On the night there was some fantastic football played, the goals were racked up and some very impressive keeping skills kept teams in with a chance to take one of the 3 trophies back to the office!

After the group stages, PLEB Soccer who came third in their group overcame E & R Wigs in the semi-final of the Best of the Rest competition and went on to beat RS Raiders 2-0 in the final.

The Nearly Winners competition (comprised of the 4 bottom placed teams from Group A) saw TMT Titans impressively beat Real Sociedad Estate by 4 goals to nil. However, they were narrowly beaten in the dying minutes of the final by an AFC Indirect third goal leaving AFC with a 3-2 win and holding the Nearly Winners plaque.

The winners of the Ultimate Champions Cup competition would return to the office with the pride of knowing that they were the overall winners of the event and the ultimate winners within Deloitte. 8 points clear at the top of the table after the group stages, it seemed as though CI Champions had the title in their kit bag. But this is football, and it’s never over until the final whistle blows! FS Tictacs fought hard in the semi-final to knock out the CI Champs, booking their place in the Ultimate final. FS Tictacs were joined in the final by ERS Estrella who had played an evening of good consistent football and managed to knock out the Deloitte Group B League winners, CB Pandas, in the semi-final. Another tight final and a last minute goal saw ERS Estrella lift the Ultimate Champions cup as they defeated FS Tictacs 3-2.

The individual awards for this in-house competitions were based on the statistics accumulated over the league season. In Group A, Leigh Duckwith (The Renegades) won both the Top Scorer (11 goals) and Player of the Season. Unfortunately for The Renegades, Leigh couldn’t make the Finals Night. In League Group B, ERS Estrella team mates Gavin Cartwright and Jason Boatwright were last night awarded with the Player of the Season and Top Scorer (20 goals) awards, respectively.

A fantastic night of football brings to a close the Deloitte 2011/12 annual league and cup competition. Later this year the fun will start all over again. Will ERS Estrella (pictured) be able to defend their ULTIMATE CHAMPIONS title?!?! Time will tell!

Old Street Open (Monday and Tuesday)

Although our Old Street football leagues have been a runaway success it has been a sore point for the TC that there hasn’t been any netball played in the area. The netball team has spent the last few months scouring the locale for courts and has finally come up trumps. Our Old Street leagues will be set within the recently redeveloped Bethnal Green Academy where we will have exclusive use of 3 purpose built netball courts as well as excellent shower and changing facilities.

We are opening the leagues up to social teams so this opportunity would really suit start-up teams looking for a netball home. We aim to deliver the most well organised, fun and competitively priced-leagues in East London.

Our Monday league is due to commence April 23rd with the Tuesday starting a day later on the 24th. There is a great introductory price so check out all the league details here.

For more information on the league and how to apply please contact Carly by email or call 020 7036 9917.

First of all, I’d like to say thank you to all those who attended the free drop-in coaching sessions at the Brixton Ferndale Community Sports Centre on 26th March. It was great to see so many of you there and I hope you all enjoyed it.

There were a couple of netball teams being represented there that night, but many of the participants were individual players who have recently moved to the area or have not played for a number of years and are looking to get back in to the sport. There were easily enough players there to form a team, maybe even two, and this is something I’d be willing to help set up.

We’re holding a meeting on Monday 2nd April at the Duke of Edinburgh pub on Ferndale Road, Brixton, at 7pm for all individual players (not restricted to those who took part in the sessions) who are interested in getting involved in one of the new women’s leagues starting soon at the Ferndale Community Sports Centre. We’ll be discussing matters such as player positions, which league you’d like to join (Monday or Wednesday), team name and potential team organisers.

So if you’re looking for a team to join we’d be delighted if you could make it but if you can’t, don’t worry, you haven’t missed your chance. If you could get in touch with me to let me know that you’re interested and also if there’s anything you’d like to add or bring up in the discussion, I’ll make sure your voice is heard.

I hope to see lots of you there, and judging by the quality that was on display at the coaching sessions, hopefully this will be the starting point for a couple of very successful netball teams.

We are delighted to announce that the hugely popular Battersea 5s Summer League is back this year following a one-year hiatus. This Monday night league which has been played at the All-Weather Sports Ground in Battersea Park since 2002 did not run in 2011 as the pitch was undergoing refurbishment following a £350,000 investment. But if you take a look at that beautiful, new playing surface we think you’ll agree it was worth every penny and are sure that you’ll be itching to get on there when the season kicks off on 23rd April.

The ground was re-opened in December with an exhibition training session by the Chelsea FC youth team, who were welcomed on to the pitch by Wandsworth Council’s cabinet member for environment and culture, Councillor Jonathan Cook. Chelsea has a long-established relationship with Wandsworth, basing their academy at Battersea Park before moving to facilities in Cobham, Surrey.

League applications have already started to come in, and with prices frozen at just £46 per game making this one of the best-value leagues around, we’re expecting the remaining places to go soon. So make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to play at this “Premier League quality” venue this summer and book your team’s place today.

For more information on the league and how to apply, visit our info and entry page or call John on 020 7036 9921 or email john.atkinson@topcorner.co.uk.

New leagues for Old Street and Vauxhall.

We aim to deliver the most well organised, fun and competitively priced-leagues in East London so please watch this space for further details.

Our Monday league is due to commence April 23rd with the Tuesday starting a day later on the 24th.

Vauxhall Wednesday Social League

Last 18 months have seen Vauxhall rapidly develop into one of London’s premier netball hubs with TC now operating across 5 courts throughout the week. As the leagues have grown the standard has also improved season on season. In response to demand we’ve decided to create an entirely new league aimed specifically at social grade teams. The league will take place at the revamped LBOS, where our courts have been recently refurbished. Work is now underway on new changing rooms and a cafe that will make the venue one of the most impressive in London. Please see here for more details, the league will commence May 9th.

If you’d like to know more about these exciting opportunities please contact Bayo Obasaju (0207 036 9915) or Carly Bacon (0207 036 9917)
