Saturday Morning Kickabout!

T47-court-1fwEvery Saturday we hold drop-in football sessions at London Bridge. It starts at 11 AM and we play for an hour.

The pitches are indoors at T47, London’s coolest new venue.  No need to bring a ball; no need to be a great player; just come along!  We’re expecting a lot of demand for this, so please book in advance if you want to be sure of a place.  Otherwise it will be first come, first served.

All you need is your trainers and shin pads. We’ll organise everyone into teams and away we go.  It’s a casual, social fun session where you can meet people, make friends and get into playing football.  Oh, and get fit …

There are men’s and women’s sessions with a ref for each, mainly to pick the teams and make sure everyone enjoys the game.  Remember: you don’t need to be any good.  That’s not what it’s about. Afterwards, why not see who wants to have lunch down at Borough Market or Bermondsey Street?

The plastic surface is great for trainers or tennis shoes or anything with plenty of grip, but isn’t suitable for dimpled astroboots, blades, studs etc.   You’ll fall over.  And that’s not good.  T47 has showers and changing rooms and you can leave your kit behind the goals.

Best of all, it’s only £4.50* each!Girls_team

T47 Sports Venue, 47 St Thomas Street, London SE1 3QX.  It’s only 3 minutes’ walk from London Bridge station Directions

To book a place call us at T47 on 020 7700 1888 or email David.

* if 4 sessions paid for together.  Drop in price £6.

Tuesday lunchtime … we have 12 men and 5 women signed up already so numbers are looking good for Saturday. We’ll open up another pitch for guys if we get many more.

18 blokes / 10 girls … looking great for Saturday! We can only take 5 more women but will have 2 mens’ pitches.

13th Feb update: we’ve got loads of guys for the 11 AM session which looks like being full. We won’t run the 10 AM one unless we get a sudden influx. Still plenty of spaces for girls although we’re expecting some late entries …

i have been going to the kickabout from its inception and it was initially very good.

It has recently deteriorated significantly to the point that even though you turn up on time you are being told on the pitch that it is overcrowded and that you can’t play.

I understand it’s a business and that the kickabout is the least lucrative of possible uses, but better communication and organisation are not to much to ask for.
